Following up on last year’s successful workshop (see video), we are adding another layer to our solar cell venture to make it even better; one might say we are going tandem! Have you ever wanted to share your research with the public but did not know how to get started? In this dynamic three-day workshop, we will address how to go from an initial idea or opportunity, through the development phase to the day of the outreach event itself. The aim of this workshop will be to guide participants through the iterative process of developing didactic material, under the guidance of the Scienteens Lab, while working in small teams. The developed material will be presented to the harshest of critics, a class of high‑school students, which will conclude the event. The target audience for the didactic material is teenagers and young adults (15-23 years old).

This event will be hosted by the Physics and Sustainability Scienteens Lab and the E4L outreach teams of the University of Luxembourg on the 11th – 13th of May 2026. As this is a hands-on course, in-person participation is mandatory. This event is funded by the ReNew-PV COST network and participation costs will be covered for 10 participants, who need to be a member of the network. Application of self-funded participants is welcomed.

The registration deadline is Monday 23rd of March 2026. The registration page can be found here. After the registration period has ended you will get invitation through the E-COST system, and acceptance in E-Cost gives the right of participation.

Phillip Dale

I have been communicating science and designing pedagogic experiences for nine years, in the setting of workshops, festivals, school visits, podcasts, video shorts and cartoons. I am passionate about engaging the public to make them understand about the future of energy and how the world really works.

Elisabeth John

I am passionate about exciting teenagers for natural sciences and show them career opportunities. Together with my team we welcome 4000 teenagers per year at the Scienteens Lab of the University of Luxembourg.

Louis Krieger

I have been doing Science Communication for 6 years, participating in science festivals, workshops, science shows, and visiting schools. I am a curious person that likes to share my passion of things I find while wandering through different sciences.

Sebastien Elixander

As a member of the Scienteens Lab, I bring experience from my time at the University of Luxembourg, where I actively participated in various workshops and festivals. I am passionate about outreach, as it allows me to engage the public with research. I love interacting with people and finding creative methods to entertain and educate on a wide range of topics.

Lara Bertemes

I recently joined the Scienteens Lab as Sustainability Specialist. I am passionate about environmental sustainability and have worked with diverse stakeholders from students to policymakers, all the way from local to international level. As a climate youth delegate, I have been active in the UNFCCC processes and had the pleasure to participate at the COP30, connecting youth with climate science and being live and active in international negotiations.

Adriana Röttger

As a researcher, I have gained experience in science communication and outreach by participating in different science festivals. As the newest member of this team, I am eager to leave the lab for a while and bring my experience to the table.
