A recent publication is the result from a cooperation between Renew-PV members from Cadi Ayyad University, Morocco and National Institute of Materials Physics, Romania. The article published in Applied Surface Science addresses a comprehensive structural, optical and morphological detailed study of Cu₂Zn_1-xCo_xSnS₄films with different molar fraction of cobalt synthesized by sol gel spin coating technique. It was found that relatively low solution concentrations of precursors are critical to obtain single solid solution phase, while for more concentrated ones, the films are phase-segregated into Cu₂ZnSnS₄ and Cu₂CoSnS₄, as inferred from XRD and Raman spectroscopy data analyses.
